How current the data is
This site holds 4,979,076 publicly visible observations. That number says nothing about whether they describe the present. This page asks the second question: of what each jurisdiction publishes, how much of it is from the last 5 years.
Yukon is the most current, at 80.0% of its dated observations falling in 2021 or later. Newfoundland and Labrador is the least, at 5.5%. Both are counted the same way, against the same window.

What a big number can hide
A jurisdiction can hold a great many observations and still publish little about the present, because one long federal series reaching back decades counts for more rows than a provincial series covering the last three years. The mean year column is there for exactly that reason: it moves when the weight of a jurisdiction's data sits in the past, and the observation count does not.
Sources whose data ends earliest
These are the visible sources whose newest readable period is oldest. A source ending years ago is not a fault in the publisher; a great deal of it is discontinued reporting. It is a fact about what can be said today.
